Happy 4th to all my fellow Americans!  To the rest of my readers, Happy Wednesday!

This past Friday evening I headed to the city to do some shooting!  When I started processing these shots, one of them that I wanted to post for today I ended up processing it 3 ways.  I thought it would be a good post to compare the three methods I used and what I think came out best and what are your thoughts?  Now if you came here from Flickr, you know which one I liked the best!

For the Fourth I have an image I titled:  Patriot Wrigley!  Here are the three versions morphed into one image:

Can you guess what I did for each of these?

1. A Single Exposure processed in Lightroom/Photoshop

The “normal” procedure for most photos, processed the Raw in Lightroom, then took into Photoshop for some other adjustments.

2. 3 exposure manually blended in Lightroom/Photoshop

This was manually blended in Photoshop using three exposure, +1, 0, -1 and then adjusted and merged.  I love this method as you can easily mask in lightly adjustments and great a beautiful image.

3. An HDR processed in Photomatix/Photoshop

A five shot HDR image processed in Photomatix then imported back into Lightroom then onto Photoshop.  As normal you get great range of exposure.  Highlights and shadows filled in nicely.  Though there is just something I do not like about it here.

These are three approaches I usually take in my photographs, though I do use HDR the most.

Personally I like #2 the best, though the single image is right up there.  I just am not digging the HDR here and I did do it several times to try and get something more to my liking, but I just couldn’t.

What are your thoughts?  What methods would you use on such a shot?

I hope everyone has a nice Fourth and stay cool if your in a hot spot!
